RC-BLAST

Project led by Siddhartha Datta under the guidance of Dr. Ron Sass

What is BLAST?

BLAST is a tool universally used by biologists to identify similarities between unknown genome sequences and existing genomic databases.

What is RC-BLAST?

An open source description of the how to accelerate BLAST with an FPGA. The current implementation is done on a Xilinx Virtex 4 FPGA. The interface to the hard disk is done through PCI.
